A wet wedding in September!

The wedding of Hayley & Dave on September the 10th really tested my skills and the weather protection of my gear. I took a selection of gear along to cover most eventualities.

The important thing is to get the shots without getting in the way... everyone is rushing around, Hair stylist, Make-up, Flowers etc. I try to capture things as they unfold. Arrival at the church was defiantly full on brolly weather and the guys in the full Ghost-busters outfits with car to match had to abandon plans for a photo shoot outside the beautiful Swithland Church. The next fly in the ointment was the vicar, plans made months ago were arranged for me to be based in the choir stalls... but on the day she changed her mind and now I had to be at the back of the church!!! - she didn't get invited to the reception!! - Glad I brought the 50-140 lens.

The rest of the afternoon was spent getting outdoor shots in-between the rain showers. The weather forecast said it should be dry by three... Not a chance!

At last by sunset it was dry and we rushed of to get some shots on Old John, a folly at the highest point in Bradgate park. With the light fading fast we marched up the hill and I settled on three or four locations, and for about two minutes the sun popped out from below the clouds.
